Houghton Districts v Para Hills

In a high scoring affair, Houghton Districts snapped their losing streak, while keeping Para Hills winless, on Saturday. It was a nail-biter, with a late Para Hills surge almost causing an upset on the road for the Kangaroos in round four. Paul Cree kicked seven goals for the winners, and Mark Boothey was best on ground for Houghton, while Win Thach claimed best afield honours for the losing side. It was a close game all match, with four goals the largest quarter-ending lead for the game, at three quarter time. The win sees Houghton kickstart their year and move to seventh, while Para Hills sit equal last with the only other winless team, Mawson Lakes. Houghton will be hoping this four-point victory can give them some confidence moving forth, while Para Hills look a shadow of their 2019 self, a side that played division 6 finals.
