Gepps Cross v Woodville South

Gepps Cross have risen to third on the ladder, after defeating Woodville South by 67-points at Duncan Fraser Reserve. The Rams started the game positively, with their attacking game style seeing them lead by 18-points at the first break. In the second term the Cats were unable to kick accurately, only managing one goal and four behinds. When play resumed in the second half the Rams displayed their superior skills, with five goals in the last quarter seeing them consolidate a comprehensive victory. Ram’s forwards Jeff Ladd and Graham Hampton enjoyed great games, with Ladd kicking nine and Hampton kicking seven majors. For the Cats, Jason Westley and Angus Dayman kicked three goals each. The performances of Ladd and Hampton were well accompanied by strong efforts from Matthew Schmidt, Sawilski and Tahana. In a disappointing game for the Cats, Simon Tyler and Chad Percy found plenty of the ball.
