Adelaide Crows v Essendon
by Thomas McLean

Despite some positive signs in their loss to St Kilda, Adelaide will be no match for Essendon at Adelaide Oval this Sunday. The Crows suffered their first loss to St Kilda since 2011 and was also the Saints first win at Adelaide Oval after 10 failed attempts. Adelaide were without Captain Rory Sloane, however stand-in skipper Tom Doedee stood up across half back with numerous intercept marks. Taylor Walker found some form kicking three goals and being a strong presence in the forward line.

Essendon will be looking to bounce back after their poor display against the Western Bulldogs. After an even first quarter, the Bombers couldn’t keep pace with the rampaging Bulldogs. From late in the first quarter until early in the last, the Bombers could only manage one goal, while the Bulldogs kicked 11 majors. This was only Essendon’s second loss for the season, with the other loss being by one point to Carlton.
