Pulteney vs Kenilworth

Undefeated and top of the ladder, the Kenilworth Kookaburras were looking to continue their Round 2 form as they took on Pulteney on their home ground. Pulteney had won one and lost one going into this match and were hoping to utilise their home ground advantage and continue their momentum coming off of last weeks 26 point win over Ingle Farm. It was Pulteney who came out of the gates with 3 goals in the first quarter. They continued to hit the scoreboard each quarter and won majority of the footy, keeping Kenilworth goalless until the fourth quarter. The final score was Pulteney 5.6-36 to Kenilworth’s 1.3-9. The loss has knocked Kenilworth off of top spot and down to third, with plenty of time left of the season to prove themselves and win back their spot. Multiple goal kickers from Pulteney were N. Gittings 2, C. Glover, I. Loftes and M. Ashby with just the single goal kicked by A O’Brien for Kenilworth. The best players for Pulteney included the likes of M. Ashby, G. Osborne, L. Bailey, N. Gittings and A. Heal. Kenilworth’s best were L. Schroeder, H. Gordon, A. O”Brien, E. Scriven, T. Farrugia. As it stands, Kenilworth are still sitting top four pretty at 3rd spot closely followed by Pulteny in 4th.
